Here’s a common question I receive from both new and seasoned Logos users:
What are those hash marks on the right side of resource panels?
Answering this question a few times recently indicated I may need to remind everyone what they are.
Most of the hash marks in the scroll bar area of resource panels are called Auto Bookmarks. They’re similar to a local history in a resource.
Try this:
- Open any Bible
- Type a Bible verse in the reference box (A)
- Press the Enter key to jump to that passage (B)
- Notice at the same time a hash mark was placed in the scroll bar area (C)
- Rest the cursor on the hash mark to see a pop-up or click it to jump to that location (D)
If you like this feature, then certainly keep it visible. If, however, you think it clutters the scroll bar area then you can toggle off the hash marks:
- Choose the Help menu in the upper right of the program (E)
- Select Program Settings (F)
- Set Show Auto and Favorite Bookmarks to No (G)
Please keep in mind the No setting does not erase or reset the Auto Bookmarks but merely hides them. If and when you return to a Yes setting, the entire history of Auto Bookmarks returns.
