How to Move Multiple Notes in Logos to a Different Notebook

woman at computer for a post about using Canvas in Logos

A semi-distressed Logos user contacted me with the following situation:

I’ve accidently misfiled numerous notes in the wrong notebook. I know how to move one note at a time, but please tell me there’s a way to simultaneously move all of the misfiled notes to the correct notebook.

To the Logos user’s relief, there are actually a couple of ways to do what he wants, but I’ll focus on just one:

  • Open Notes from the Tools menu
  • Click the Sidebar icon in the upper left of Notes (A) to toggle on the Sidebar with Filters and Notebooks (B)
  • Click the Notebooks icon (C) to display your current Notebooks in the Sidebar (D)

  • Click the Notebook containing the misfiled Notes (E)
  • Notice all of the Notes in the “incorrect Notebook” will be displayed (F)

At this point, the key is to select all of the individual Notes in the list that are misfiled.

If all of the Notes in the list are misfiled:

  • Click a Note in the list
  • Press Ctrl + A on a PC or Cmd + A on a Mac to select all of the Notes in the list (G)

If some of the Notes in the list are misfiled:

  • Click a Note in the list
  • Hold down Ctrl on a PC or Cmd on a Mac
  • Click one at a time the other misfiled Notes (H)

Regardless of the above method used:

  • Notice when multiple Notes are selected, a pane on the right appears allowing you to make global changes to the selected Notes (I)
  • Click the drop-down arrow in the Notebook section (J)
  • Select from the list the “correct Notebook” in which to move the selected Notes (K)
  • Click the Apply changes icon (L)notes in Logos blog post

That’s it! You just moved multiple Notes at the same time. While you’re there, explore the pane on the right to see what other global changes you can make.
