How to Rename a Workflow Notebook

Hopefully, you’ve already seen two of the most exciting new Logos 8 features: Workflows and Notes. Workflows walk you through a Bible study task allowing you to record your insights along the way. Your recorded observations are then housed as Notes in a Notebook Logos automatically creates for you.

The name of the Notebook, based on the name of the Workflow, can be lengthy and detailed. All I want to do in this blog is point out you can rename the Workflow Notebook without affecting its functionality.

For example:

  • Choose Guides | Workflows |Expository Sermon Preparation (or any Workflow you have) (A)

Workflow Notebook

  • Place a passage in the Reference box such as Philippians 1:27–30 (B)
  • Press the Enter key to generate the Workflow
  • Jump to any section and record your thoughts in the Your observations box (C)

Workflow Notebook

  • Choose Tools |Content | Notes (D)

Workflow Notebook

  • Click the Sidebar icon (E) to toggle on the sidebar housing Filters and Notebooks (F)
  • Click the Notebooks icon (H) to display all of your Notebooks (I)
  • Scroll until you see the new Notebook Logos created with the detailed name of the Workflow, such as Expository Sermon Preparation | Philippians 1:27–30 (J)
  • Rest the cursor on the name of the Notebook (K)
  • Click the “three dots” icon on the right (L)

Workflow Notebook

  • Select Rename from the list (M)

Workflow Notebook

  • Type a new name for the Notebook such as WF: Sermon Prep Phil 1:27–30 (N)

Workflow Notebook

  • Press the Enter key to save the name (O)

Workflow Notebook

When you continue to add Notes to the Started Workflow, they will automatically go into this newly named Notebook!

From the above example, you can clearly see the names of Workflow Notebooks can be long. Also, since Workflows have different names, your Workflow Notebooks will not be listed together in the Sidebar. I encourage you, therefore, to develop your own naming system for Workflow Notebooks and begin each with WF:. Such a system will group these Notebooks in the alphabetical list in the Sidebar! (P)
