All January long, Logos Now members can access Ben Witherington’s New Testament Rhetoric: An Introductory Guide to the Art of Persuasion in and of the New Testament. This book guides you through the varied uses of rhetoric throughout the New Testament, explaining how writers used rhetorical tools to convince their readers and listeners of the Christian message.

Logos Now members also get access to The Other Journal: An Intersection of Theology and Culture from the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. This contemporary journal provides challenging and insightful Christian commentary on social issues, political events, cultural trends, and pop phenomena.

3 great tools you’ll get in Logos Now

New Testament Use of the Old Testament interactive and dataset

Just released last month, the New Testament Use of the Old Testament interactive lets you explore how New Testament authors reference Old Testament texts. You can display side-by-side Old Testament and New Testament passages in multiple versions—including the Hebrew or Greek Old Testament and the Greek New Testament.

The related dataset lets you search for, say, every place a Psalm is cited in Hebrews or every time Matthew references Isaiah. Together, these tools help you discover and explore the Old Testament’s influence on New Testament authors.

Lemma in Passage

The Lemma in Passage section of the Passage and Bible Word Study Guides scours your commentaries for every occurrence of the original-language lemma in the passage you want to investigate. For instance, the Greek word “logos” appears in the context of a discussion about John 1:1–even in resources not explicitly about the Gospel of John. Results are categorized according to the dictionary form of the word, and organized by resource.

Old Testament Propositional Outlines Visual Filter

With the latest update, you now get propositional outlines for the entire Old Testament. This visual filter transforms the biblical text (Hebrew or English) so you can see the flow of a passage with main points and indented sub points. Each line is labeled as to its function and you can even hover over any label to see it defined.

This is just a sampling of what’s available with a Logos Now subscription. In all, you’ll get access to more than 35 features, media collections, interactives, and datasets, and all this for only $8.99/month or $89.99/year. Study the Word with the most cutting-edge tools: subscribe to Logos Now today.

  1. Does The Logos Now Subscription update your logos 4 , 5 or crossover 6 to a complete base package 6 gold, platinum, etc for the same price of . so that one have a full base package that will be kept up to date regularly for the $8.99/month. After that the new books can be bought or deleted if not required and not have to renew to a new package as the package will be updated regularly.

      Hi, Izak.

Logos Now is a subscription add on for Logos 6 base package owners. It’s not a way to upgrade to Logos 6.

To get the most out of Logos Now, you should own a Logos 6 base package. Then, with a subscription to Logos Now, you can get the latest Logos tools, features, datasets, media, and interactives as we complete them. That way, you don’t have to wait for the latest Logos release to start using our latest tools.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  2. I am troubled in that I have come away with the impression that “our access to these extremely desirable tools that Now, SUBSCRIBERS are given a small 30 days, at the rate of 8.99/mo (in addition to the (I am afraid to look at the total) subscription and purchase fees that I have paid, continuing), to accomplish the use, understanding and incorporation into our regular , sermon planning for instance, finding a spot in our armament whilst, doing the 30 day, Do or Die Bible Challenge. assisting other members in the use of Logos, setting up Proclaim as dry runs for a church Plant that launches in 3 1/21 months, after my trial ,morphs into a 19.99 a month subscription additional subscription charge added to the deductions from my account monthly, Proclaim in and of itself is hobbled without other subscription services such as Lightstock, Pro Presenter, or some portion of CCLI, while I know that I am not going to a paycheck for a considerable while? Tithes are not collected until Worship begins, however, adequate familiarity with Worship assist tools also takes time… What is the bottom line here an $108.00 a year for Now,that exposes the subscriber to what he cannot afford on top of the $240.00/ year for proclaim , that needs for completion…., I HOPE you get my point. I hope I am wrong. I do need to eat and sleep to a small degree, as well as be familiar with the music for the Worship band, as Minuet in G every Sunday would soon bore a congregation to sleep, or worse to another church. What you offer is great, what the differential price points involve, and the LEVELS at which they are set, or the fact that waiting times are inordinate for some things promised NEVER materialize (Lesson III of Chappell’s Expository Preaching—rendering part one unavailable for nearly a year). It a lends itself to mounting confusion and frustration. I am not complaining about the product, but the message seems to be at cross purposes with the vision. I hope I am mistaken. Please clarify this point. Thank You, In my Prayers.

      Hi, David.

So sorry to hear your frustration! It’s really good for us to hear feedback like this. I can promise you, we don’t take it lightly.

Just so you know, one more affordable option for you may be the annual subscription to Logos Now. The monthly subscription to Logos Now—including the free month—ends up being about $99 a year. The annual subscription is $89/yr. It’s the equivalent of getting two months free.

I know being a church planter is tough (but important!) work, and every little bit of savings helps. If you’re interested in Now, I’d go with the annual subscription. Either way, it means a lot to us that you care so much about what we make that not only do you use our products, you give us feedback. If you have more specific issues you’d like us to address, feel free to send me an email at tyler.smith@faithlife.com and I’ll be sure to get it to the right person.

Wishing you the best with the church plant!

  3. I don’t know enough about logos to know if this is a tool that I am even ready for. I am 54 so I am limited in computer skills. I grew up in feel good Baptist churches (which I still feel church is watered down surface material being taught). I do know it super expensive for me. My question is about the free 30 day class. This requires that I am already signed up and paid to be a part of, right? It is not a taste and see offer I assume in other words. I know I need and want more depth in my study of the Scriptures but not sure I am ready for this level. So, is this “taste and see” or buy and see”?
    Thank you,

    • Tyler Smith says

      Hi, Sheila.

You don’t have to purchase anything to be a part of the 30-Day training. We designed the course to train you how to study the Bible, no matter what tools you use. Along the way you’ll see how to use Logos, but you don’t have to have the software to get something out of the training. If you haven’t already, you should definitely sign up for the training. I think you’d love it!

Do you know about Logos Cloud? It’s a subscription version of Logos, and you can get it for as little as $8.99/mo. Plus, you can get your first month free. It might be a more affordable option for you. Also, we have a version of the free training for Logos Cloud as well. Check out this blog post to learn more about it.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with!

  4. Right now I have Logos 6.8 SR. Is the Logos Now something different, not included in what I have now?
