Compare Outlines of Biblical Passages

LogosPro_blogOne of the first steps of any Bible study is to develop an outline of your passage. It’s a straightforward way to grasp the argument, flow of thought, and themes in that section of Scripture. As you’re developing an outline, it’s immensely helpful to see how others have understood the structure of the passage. Seeing the work of multiple commentators can open your eyes to possibilities you haven’t considered.

Comparing outlines from commentaries and sermon collections in a paper library would be time consuming and cumbersome. But with Logos’ Bible Outline Browser, you can instantly see outlines drawn from your resources, all in one place.

This feature is available in Logos 6 Gold and above.

Fill your library with outlines

One great way to track down quality outlines is to consult sermons from preachers whose messages closely follow the biblical text. These sermon collections will fill your library with outlines from across Scripture, giving you a steady flow of information to fill the Bible Outline Browser.

  • Classic Sermon Library Builder – This 100-volume collection of over 2,500 sermons features preachers such as George Whitefield, John Wycliffe, and D.L. Moody.

    • Tyler Smith says:

      Hi, Eric.

The Bible Outline Browswer is available in Logos 6 Gold and above.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

      ~Tyler

      • Greg Buchanan says:

That this is for GOLD and above should be CLEARLY stated in the article before a person wastes time trying to find it and/or use it.

        • Tyler Smith says:

You’re totally right, Greg. I just added that information to this post, and will be certain to include that in the future. Sorry for any inconvenience, and thanks for giving us the helpful feedback.

          Best,

          ~Tyler

  3. "These sermon collections will fill your library with outlines…" My library is full of commentaries containing outlines, but hardly any of these appear in BOB. Is BOB a Work-in-Progress?

    • Tyler Smith says:

      Hi, Peter.

Not every resource in Logos is tagged to fill the Bible Outline Browser. If you want to fill your library with resources specially tagged for the Bible Outline Browser, I recommend picking up the collections mentioned in this post.

      Hope that helps!

      Tyler

  4. Paula Brink says:

Same comment as Eric (above). I have Logos 6 Silver and I know I have some of the books referenced in the video but “Bible Outline Browser” is not on the list of all Interactive Resources.

  5. Is this a "beta" feature you are showing to Pro subscribers (which I am)? I have Gold and much more but this feature does not work well. It alwasy wants to open to themiddle of a book and I can't navigate to the beginning of the book. Crazy and not impressive like this.
