Get Your Journals as We Complete Them

Journal Bundle blog post imageNo one likes to wait. Since we began work on Logos 6, we’ve been eagerly anticipating the completion of our journal bundles—definitive collections of some of the most celebrated scholarly journals out there.

We’ve been hard at work tagging over 1,200 volumes. Soon, you’ll be able to search for a Scripture in the Passage Guide or Sermon Starter Guide and see every relevant article in every journal in your library.

The journal bundles are due to ship in September, but we just can’t wait any longer. And we don’t want you to either.

We’re giving you the chance to gain instant access to journals in these bundles as we complete them.

Interested in the Master Journal Bundle? Choose the Ship as Available option, and as soon as we’ve completed work on every volume in, say, the Bulletin for Biblical Research, we’ll deliver it straight to your software. The same goes for Themelios, First Things, Bibliotheca Sacra, and 59 other respected biblical and theological periodicals. With Ship as Available, you’ll be charged up front and be able to enjoy your journals as soon as possible.

If you’re happy waiting until September, that’s cool! Order your favorite journal bundles on Pre-Pub and we won’t charge you until the full bundles ship in September.

But if you’re like me and you’d rather dig into great content as soon as it’s available, read on and I’ll show you how it’s done.

  1. So, what’s the difference between these journal bundles and the tons of journals I already own? The journals I already own are also searchable, right?

    • Tyler Smith says:

      Hi, Rich.

The journals you already own are searchable, but as of now that searchability is limited. There are two things we’re adding to the journals.

First, you’ll be able to find excerpts from journals in your Passage Guide and Sermon Starter Guide. You’ll also be able to do more precise searches within your journals. For instance, you could find every time a particular author mentions a specific word in a journal article.

Second, journals will be tagged with Logos Controlled Vocabulary (https://www.logos.com/product/25628/logos-controlled-vocabulary-dataset). Basically, this will enable results from journals to show up in the Factbook.

If you already own journals, these updates will be added to them for free. This kind of tagging will be standard for future journals we release.

I hope that clears everything up. Please be sure to let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help.

      Tyler

  2. Ferris McDaniel says:

So what about all of us who were current with the Theological Journals program you have been offering. I think I was current and now you want me to drop $500 bucks when I have the majority of issues already. This seems a big rip-off. Does Logos have any other “deals” coming down the pike? Perhaps a Hebrew and Greek Bible package featuring Kittel, BHS and Snaith along with the new BHQ for $400?

    • Tyler Smith says:

      Hi, Ferris.

You will only pay for the resources that are new to you. You will see a specially discounted price that’s based on the resources you already own. If you order a bundle that contains journals you already own, you can have confidence that you will not be charged twice for anything.

If you already pre-ordered one of the bundles and would like to switch to the Ship as Available option, be sure to follow the instructions in the post above.

Please let me know if you have any more questions!

      Thanks!
