We’ve upgraded the search engine and provided a variety of categories which allow for several different browsing options. Even more, the new faceted browsing allows you to stack several product categories at once so you can find that specific book you’re looking for.

With the help of faceted browsing, you can now have more information regarding the author or publisher you are searching for. When you land on a page displaying products for a specific author and publisher you searched for, you’ll see a new graphic at the top of that page. The graphic will contain a picture and brief biography or description about your search.

For authors, learn about the ministries they’ve been a part of throughout their lives, where and what they studied, some noteworthy titles they’ve authored, where they’ve worked, and other significant details about their lives. For publishers, get some insight on how the company started.

You can also instantly share your favorites with your friends by clicking the “like” button or by sharing through Twitter or email.

Check out a few pages:

N. T. Wright

R. C. Sproul

John Piper

John MacArthur

D. A. Carson

Thomas Nelson

Next time you’re looking at products on Logos.com be sure to browse by author or publisher to see their respective pages. We hope you enjoy learning about, sharing, and showing support for the people that produce the titles you love!

Seesmic Desktop is an all-in-one tool which lets you to update a number of Twitter accounts as well as your Facebook profile at the same time. Many online reviews of Seesmic call it, “Absolutely the best desktop utility.”

Now this dynamic social media manager is offering Ref.ly as a plugin to help you share Scripture more effectively with your followers and friends!

With Ref.ly Bible Verse Links, you can instantly link your Bible verses with short URLs to the full text of the passage at Biblia.com. Seesmic even chose to feature this great new plugin on their blog!

Using this plugin is simple. Type your tweet with the biblical reference, click one button, and Ref.ly Bible Verse Links will detect and change your Bible reference into a short URL that links to the full passage at Biblia.com.

Followers can easily access the Scripture in its entirety by clicking this new link and you still have characters left to share thoughts on the passage.

Check out this sample tweet:

Remembering and responding to one of my favorite verses today: http://ref.ly/Is40.31

And don’t worry about abbreviations or if your reference will be detected. Ref.ly Bible Verse Links is smart—smart enough to know whether you’re talking about where you work (your new “job”) or a passage in the book of Job.

Installing the Ref.ly plugin is easy. If you don’t have Seesmic Desktop, just download and install the program. You can find the Ref.ly plugin through Seesmic’s Plugins tab or at their Plugin Marketplace. Simply hit the install button and follow the prompts.

You will find that tweeting your favorite Bible passages has never been easier!

BlackBerry users, there is now an easier way to access Biblia.com! Now you can use the free Bible study tools or access many resources from your Logos 4 base package quickly and effeciently. We have created a Biblia.com launcher which utilizes our distinguishable Logos icon—giving you one-click access to Bible study on your BlackBerry. Take a moment to add the launcher icon to your home screen now.

Using your BlackBerry’s web browser, here’s what you’ll need to do:

Go to http://biblia.com/public/blackberry/biblialauncher.jad

Select Download when prompted

Once successfully installed, select OK

The Biblia.com launcher will now be in your Downloads folder. You can then move it to the location you prefer.

Now, I realize the next question will probably be, “When is Logos planning to have a full BlackBerry App?”

At this time we do not have any immediate plans to release one, athough it isn’t out of the question. (See the Logos Forums for Logos BlackBerry App discussions.) You can, however, immediately access thirty free Bibles, dictionaries, and commentaries. You can then unlock thirty-one additional resources by signing up for a free account.

If you’re a Logos user, many of your base package resources will automatically be available through Biblia.com. Simply sign in using your Logos.com account information and check the Library.

[Note: Not all titles available in our base packages are currently available via Logos apps. Don't own a Logos 4 base package? Get 20% off now in celebration of our Logos.com redesign! Use coupon code REDESIGN during checkout.]

Logos Apps—iPhone, iPad, Web

Mobile devices are here to stay, so as a leader in delivering digital content, we are continually developing ways for Logos users to access content while on the go. Take a moment to visit our apps page for related content, then, be sure to bookmark the page and check back frequently as this will be the place we provide all app related information, including content about any future Logos BlackBerry App.

Way back in February of 2008, we announced RefTagger, our free tool for transforming Bible references on the web. If you run a site that contains Bible references, you can add RefTagger’s JavaScript snippet in just a few minutes. RefTagger will instantly convert references on your site into links to the full text of the passage. Hovering over a reference link will display a small tooltip with up to 280 characters of the passage, so readers don’t even need to leave your site. In the 2 ½ years since its launch, RefTagger has linked 5 billion Bible references, helping millions of people to dive deeper into their studies. See just a few of the sites currently using RefTagger.

Last week we deployed a major change to RefTagger— it’s now backed by Biblia.com. Biblia.com is our recently announced site for online Bible study. Biblia.com gives you online access to your whole Logos library in a clean and simple interface. Following one of RefTagger’s links will now take you to a simple page that displays the full text of the passage, along with footnotes and cross references. One click and you can see the passage in context in the Bible, alongside your favorite commentary (Biblia.com syncs your resource priorities from Logos 4, so it really is your favorite commentary). Biblia.com’s mobile support even lets you continue your reading on the go.

Biblia.com is more than just a web site. It also provides public web services that expose the powerful Logos 4 engine, allowing you to create awesome sites, apps, and mashups. The Biblia.com API lets you retrieve Bible text, search the Bible, parse, render, and compare Bible references, locate references in a block of text, and more. If you have a great idea for an app but you’re not sure where to start coding, head over to the Biblia API docs to get started.

Are you using RefTagger or Biblia.com? Head over to the RefTagger forum or the Biblia.com forum and let us know what you think. We love to hear your feedback!

Introducing the Biblia.com beta release: a super-simple Bible for the web that’s backed up by the incredible technology (and massive library!) of Logos Bible Software. What makes Biblia.com so cool?

1. Simplicity

Need to link to a Bible verse?
http://biblia.com/bible/jn3.16
Want to choose multiple verses and a specific version? http://biblia.com/bible/nlt/jn3.16-20

2. Power

Want to see the verse in context, or side-by-side with a commentary? Just click the “more >>” link and the single-passage display turns into a two-pane viewer where you can scroll through the Bible and thousands of other books from your Logos library.

You can even link directly to a book in your library: http://biblia.com/books/summbblnt/Jn3

Need to search? Biblia.com has the power of the Logos 4 search engine, running on the web.

3. Depth

Biblia.com offers thousands of resources for searching and reading online. Everyone can use a small collection of books (including more than a dozen bible translations). A free account allows access to dozens more free books. And Logos 4 users can access their library online, complete with synchronization of “last read” position between Logos 4, the iPhone/iPad, and Biblia.com! (The list of books available online is subject to publisher permission, as with availability through mobile applications.)

In the future, everyone will be able to purchase content at Biblia.com and use it wherever they choose: online, on mobile devices, in Logos Bible Software 4, etc.

4. Freedom

With shared licenses between Logos Bible Software 4 for Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, Mobile Web, and Biblia.com, your content is available wherever you are.

And we’re opening up to your great ideas, too: http://api.biblia.com offers a powerful set of web services for Bible search and retrieval. Anyone can harness the power of Logos Bible Software 4’s underlying engine to build new web sites, mashups, etc.

Biblia.com is still in beta, but the features that are live are running well. You can link to the URL’s created by Biblia.com’s “Share” feature and they will continue to work into the future. We will also be redirecting RefTagger and Ref.ly links to Biblia.com in the next few days.

Please send feedback to BibliaFeedback@logos.com, or join the discussion in our forums.

The Lexham English Bible (LEB) is a new translation of the Bible into English, and one of the newest additions to a suite of resources from Logos which connect the original language texts to formal translations. New translations of the Bible into English appear every few years. So what’s so special about the LEB?

Your Second Bible

The LEB complements your primary translation. Its transparent design and literal rendering helps you see the text of God’s Word from another angle. Whether you use the ESV, NIV, KJV, or another popular English translation, the entire translation process helps you identify difficult texts, idiomatic phrases, grammatical issues, and more. The result? A better understanding of the Bible in English—whatever translation you use.

In Logos Bible Software, interlinears reveal the path from the original language texts to formal translation. This type of information, used in concert with your primary translation, helps you dig deeper into the text of the original languages. The entire translation process is visible and transparent—you can see the entire process.

We’ve launched LexhamEnglishBible.com, which contains everything you need to know about the LEB. There you can compare the LEB to other popular translations and learn about the translation process.

Download the LEB for Free

If you own a Logos 4 base package, then you already own the LEB. Search for Lexham English Bible in your Library to begin reading it right now.

If you don’t own a Logos 4 base package, you can download the LEB individually for free for Logos 4 or for older versions of Logos. From the product page, click “Add to Cart” (make sure you’re logged in) and proceed through checkout. As part of the checkout process, you’ll need to enter credit card information, but we promise we won’t charge you a penny.

Not only can you get the LEB for free in Logos Bible Software, you can download it in several other file formats, including PDF, TXT, EPUB, XML and more. We’re so excited about the LEB’s usefulness as a complement to your primary translation that we’ve decided to share it with everyone under a generous license for both commercial and non-commercial use.

Read It Now on Bible.Logos.com

With the launch of LexhamEnglishBible.com, we’ve made the LEB available on Bible.Logos.com, which means you can read it right now in your browser.

Share the LEB on Twitter

You can also share the LEB on Twitter using Ref.ly. With Ref.ly, you can specify the LEB by simply adding ; followed by LEB, the version abbreviation. For example, to share John 1:1 on Twitter using the LEB, simply type http://ref.ly/John1.1;LEB, or type the abbreviated version: http://ref.ly/Jn1.1;LEB.

Learn More

Check out LexhamEnglishBible.com to learn more, read about the translation process, compare it to other popular translations, and download it for free today!

How many Twitter followers do you have? Five? Twenty-five? One thousand!? Think about how many of those followers are walking through any number of the difficulties that life tends to toss our way. Consider how many of them just need to hear some encouragement. Maybe today would be a good time to send out a favorite, encouraging scripture or two. Perhaps you have a verse which has so inspired you it has become your life-verse and is the kind of support that someone might need today. Ref.ly was created to meet such a need.

With ref.ly you can provide a short link to that verse that has been on your mind and send followers directly to that passage at Bible.Logos.com.

Sure, you could just enter the verse address you are thinking of but what are the chances that your tweet reader is going to instantly recognize Is 53:6 or run to fetch their Bible to look it up? With ref.ly you can link directly to a Scripture that can be read with a simple click; ref.ly

You can either go directly to ref.ly put in your verse and hit the tweet button or go directly to Bible.logos.com put in your verse and hit the Share or Tweet button at the right of the page.

Another great aspect is that you can bypass the actual ref.ly site for most verses and simply type in the short-hand of the verse you would like to tweet; for John 3:16 you would simply type out http://ref.ly/Jn3.16. It is as easy as that.

Sharing God’s Word with those who are following your words is a blessing that can’t be measured. And ref.ly was created for just such a purpose. If you have found have found a creative and encouraging way to use ref.ly in your tweets or other social media sites respond with a comment and let us hear about it!

While I try to keep God’s Word in my heart and mind on a regular basis, I must say that among email, work projects, family, Facebook, Twitter . . . my heart and mind tend to stray a little. That’s why I’m excited about the new project we’re launching today.

Today we are announcing the launch of 7 new Twitter accounts that are designed to help you take a moment in your day and meditate on God’s word.

We set the accounts up about a couple week ago to run them through some testing, and I’ve been following them in my personal twitter account. It has been really encouraging to glance over at my feed throughout the day and see a simple reminder of who God is and who I am in Christ.

We hope that these accounts will be a blessing to all you Twitter users and that, amongst the endless chatter of Twitter, you will stop for a moment focus your heart and mind on God’s Word.

Here are the accounts you can follow:

Follow @BibleHope

We’re constantly expanding our offerings at Bible.Logos.com. If you’ve been watching closely, you might have noticed the addition of the GOD’S WORD translation to Bible.Logos.com—which also means you can link to GOD’S WORD using Ref.ly and RefTagger.

What is the GOD’S WORD translation? This new translation renders the best available texts into readable English with the closest possible accuracy. This commitment to accurately translating the Bible includes expressing the meaning naturally and in a style that preserves the characteristics of the source text. The result? An eminently readable Bible translation for all ages.

David Dockery recently called the GOD’S WORD translation “a remarkably fresh, accurate, and readable translation that communicates well the original text for modern readers.” It has also been endorsed by Billy Graham, Josh McDowell, D. James Kennedy, and lots of other pastors and scholars.

Start reading now on Bible.Logos.com!

To link to GOD’S WORD using RefTagger, add the version abbreviation after the reference in one of the following three formats, and RefTagger will properly identify and tag your references with the appropriate version.

Heb 12:1-2 GW

Deut 5:5, GW

Rev 21:1 (GW)

You can also share the GOD’S WORD translation on Twitter using Ref.ly. With Ref.ly, you can specify a particular version by simply adding ; followed by GW, the version abbreviation. For example, to share John 3:16 on Twitter using the GOD’S WORD translation, simply type http://ref.ly/Jn3.16;GW or http://ref.ly/John3.16;GW.

Learn more about the translation on the GOD’S WORD page, or start reading it right now on Bible.Logos.com.

When people ask me what I do for work, I half-jokingly tell them that I Twitter for a living. At any given time I can have up to 4 different Twitter clients up on my screen. I monitor a lot of different conversations and do my best to keep tabs on the vast number of discussion taking place. This can be a little crazy since @Logos has almost 5,000 followers and we follow all of them (spammers and SEO experts excluded, of course).

While there is a lot of information being thrown at me, there was one tweet that caught my eye the other day. @pastorjamie tweeted this:

I immediately stopped and thought, “Wow, what a great use of Twitter.” Here we have a pastor using Twitter to not simply share that he’s having a cup of coffee, or that he’s washing the dog. Rather, he is using Twitter to lead his church, or at least those following him on Twitter, to engage in the study of God’s Word. I was also pretty happy that he used our tool, Ref.ly, to do it.

The advancement of technology, especially in the social sphere, is nothing short of amazing. The challenge is how we can harness this technology for the kingdom and glory of God. At Logos, we are trying to do our part with projects such as Ref.ly (for Twitter and Facebook), RefTagger (for blogs and websites), and Bible.Logos.com. We hope that these tools serve you well and help you engage in a meaningful way.

So, how about you? Are you using Ref.ly or RefTagger? Drop a comment below with a link. Also, what are your thoughts on social media? What ideas do you have for engaging people in a meaningful way?
