What’s in My Library: Bible (Chronological)

Today's guest post is from Morris Proctor, certified and authorized trainer for Logos Bible Software. Morris has trained thousands of Logos users at his two-day Camp Logos training seminars. In this series, Morris answers the question, "What's in my library?"

So That's Why BibleBible (Chronological)

Definition: The contents of the Bible are not recorded for us like a story from start to finish in chronological order. A chronological Bible rearranges the events in Scripture placing them in the order they actually occurred in time.

Example: So That's Why Bible

Application: Imagine doing a study on the life of Jesus from the four gospel accounts. You have to read a little in Matthew then jump to John then back to Luke and so on to read then events as they actually occurred. A chronological Bible places theses events on the page as they actually occurred so you can read about the life of Jesus from start to finish.

Is there a chronological Bible available in Logos?

Hi Ron,
Depending on what you want to accomplish, you have a couple options. If you want to read the entire Bible in chronological order, within Logos you can setup a Bible reading plan. If you want to read the Gospels chronologically, there is The Consolidated Gospel which shows the gospels in parallel columns, and in a fifth column, arranges the events in chronological order. I hope one of these options helps!

Does this also work for Logos 4?

James,

Yes, these should both work in Logos 4.

how would you put the chronological reading plan in Logos 4? i haven't figured that one out yet. thanks!

Hi Jonathan,

There is no preset chronological reading plan to select in Logos 4. However, available in the John Hunt Desk Reference Collection (4 Vols.) is a volume titled, Footsteps Through the Bible: A 52-Week Chronological Reading Plan and Study Reference. This resource would meet your need and provide a great springboard for further study.
