Save 25% and Celebrate the Legacy of J. Dwight Pentecost

PentecostOn April 28, 2014, just four days after turning 99, distinguished pastor and professor J. Dwight Pentecost went home to be with the Lord.

Only the 100th student to enroll at Dallas Theological Seminary in 1937, Pentecost went on to pastor two different churches in Pennsylvania from 1941 to 1951. Wanting to exponentially increase his effectiveness, he decided to go back to DTS and train thousands of future pastors.

While earning his graduate degree, Pentecost taught at DTS, eventually joining the faculty in 1958. He continued to pastor in Texas while teaching Bible exposition and authoring or coauthoring more than 20 books. He taught his last class at DTS in December 2013 at age 98.

In celebration of his life, you can purchase the 11-volume J. Dwight Pentecost Collection for 25% off. Here are six inspirational quotes from books in the J. Dwight Pentecost Collection:

“That which the Word of God produces in your life is directly related to the preparation you have permitted the Spirit of God to do in your life and heart. If you came to the Word with an unprepared heart, the seed is taken away. If you came to the Word with a life choked up with weeds, with sin, with bitterness, with jealousy, with strife, the Word will never come to fruit. But if you come to the Word of God with a life that has been prepared to receive the truth of the Word by the Spirit of God, the good seed sown by the Lord Jesus will produce its fruit. As living seed, it must reproduce.” —Your Adversary, the Devil

“The commission is not fulfilled by your contribution to a missionary budget that sends a missionary to some dark place of the earth. The Great Commission is fulfilled when you, right where you are, disciple somebody else by teaching them and showing them what you have learned of the things of Christ and the Father from the Word of God.” —Design for Discipleship

“During the course of His earthly life, Christ had demonstrated the compassion of God toward the poor, the sick, the sorrowing, the outcast, and the sinful. Compassion such as He demonstrated will be required of those who are His subjects in the kingdom.” —Thy Kingdom Come

“May we experience His personal presence so that we shall be delivered when we are tempted to wrap the mantle of loneliness about us and hide away like Elijah in our caves.” —Life’s Problems—God’s Solutions

“Satan wants to turn your mind into a cesspool and have your mind occupied with that which ultimately must corrupt, defile, and spoil the whole body, distort the life, and produce sin. The battle is not first in the field of action; it is in the field of thought.” —The Joy of Living

“There is no such thing as a neutral act, or a neutral thought, or a neutral word in the life of the child of God. That which is not produced by the Holy Spirit, is produced by the flesh. Every step you take, every word you speak, every action of your life not consciously controlled by the Holy Spirit is being produced by the flesh.” —The Divine Comforter
