Each week we will post a forum thread asking which commentaries, available from Logos, are your favorites for a specific book in the Bible. This is a great opportunity to let other Logos users know which commentaries you have found valuable in your studies.

  1. Andy Anderson says:

I would highly recommend the Commentary on Mark in the NIV Application Commentary by David E Garland! It is geared toward the pastor and at the same time is devotional.

  2. Ken Braun says:

I recently preached through Mark, and along with many of these suggestions for Mark I would add Timothy J Geddert’s Mark Commentary from the Believers Church Commmentary set, it is a good addition, not sure if it is in the Logos collection yet.

  3. Alex Gibson says:

Prior to my study of Mark I was not fully convince that Mark was the first gospel, be having readed James R. Edwards “The Gospel according to Mark” in the Pillar N.T. Series I am now convince other wise. His writing is all most sermon like, but at the same time academic in nature.Highly recommend toward pastor’s and anyone who wants to know more about this first gospel.
