Library Journal Gives Bible Study Magazine Good Marks

Steve Black, a librarian at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY and the primary reviewer for Library Journal, evaluates Bible Study Magazine and has some nice things to say about it. He even gave it a red star, which Library Journal uses to mark an outstanding title that is especially noteworthy.

Here’s his conclusion:

Bible Study Magazine is a serious, clearly written popular magazine . . . . Highly recommended for religious studies collections in academic and public libraries.

Logos–Facebook Photo Contest Winners

A week and a half ago we announced the Logos–Facebook Photo Contest and invited you to take pictures of yourself with Logos Bible Software and upload them to Facebook. The response to the contest was super. Nearly 900 new people connected with us on Facebook, and close to 400 photos were uploaded and tagged.

The deadline for entering was Sunday, March 1, but we allowed all photos submitted by the time we picked the winners yesterday afternoon. With so many creative and cool entries, it was very difficult to pick the winner for each category, but here’s what the judges came up with.

Search for Just the Root Word

When you execute a search on a word like bless you’ll also receive hits on the various forms of the word like blessed, blessing and blessings. This feature is called stemming. If you just want to locate a word without the forms you must type nostem and then your word in parenthesis. For example, to find just the word bless, type this in the search box: nostem(bless).
